Each advent calendar includes 24 felt shapes, each with a pocket in the back and the date embroidered on the front. Fill each pocket with a treat (chocolate is traditional), a small toy (I prefer tiny dinosaurs), or an activity (like making hot cocoa, wrapping presents, or baking cookies).

The pockets come pre-pinned to a 6 ft (1.8m) ribbon. So you can use it as a garland or hang it from a pin on the wall and use it year after year.
